MURPHY, Mary Elizabeth “Liz”
The funeral for Elizabeth “Liz” Murphy, formerly of Mount Stewart, was held on Monday, July 13, 2015 from Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home to St. Andrew’s Church, Mount Stewart, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Reverend John Lacey, who also delivered the homily. The first lesson was proclaimed by daughter, Beverlee Jorgensen, and the second lesson was proclaimed by son, Brian Murphy. The prayers of intercession were offered by son, Brian Murphy and daughter, Beverlee Jorgensen. The funeral mass was sung by St. Andrew’s Parish choir. The organist was Barbara McKenna. During the funeral, the choir sang the entrance hymn, Be Not Afraid; the psalm, Rest In God Alone; the offertory hymn, Isaiah 49; the communion hymn, As Sure As The Morning; the post communion hymn, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; and the recessional hymn, Like A Shepherd. The pallbearers were sons, Wayne Murphy, Brendon Murphy, David Murphy, Brian Murphy, Clarence Murphy, and daughter, Beverlee Jorgensen, grandsons, Jonathan Murphy and Steven Murphy. The interment took place in St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery where Father Lacey held the graveside service.
