Li­brary wel­comes spe­cial guest

Mau­reen Jen­nings, au­thor of “Ex­cept The Dy­ing”, which is the in­spi­ra­tion for the Mur­doch Mys­ter­ies TV se­ries, does a lit­tle play­ful covert ob­ser­va­tion at the Con­fed­er­a­tion Cen­tre li­brary this past Tues­day. She is tour­ing the Is­land as part of the an­nual One Book One Is­land pro­gram that brings an au­thor to P.E.I. in cel­e­bra­tion of one se­lected ti­tle each year. Cen­tral Bed­eque, is open Tues­day to Satur­day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sun­days, 1-5 p.m. (ad­mis­sion $5, stu­dents/se­niors $4). The mu­seum presents the story of Call­beck’s Gen­eral Store and a new sec­ond floor area with an ex­panded se­lec­tion from the col­lec­tion of Howard Clark. provin­cially des­ig­nated His­toric Place of P.E.I., is on the North Cape Coastal Drive, 784 Bide­ford Rd. (Route 166) in Eller­slie-Bide­ford. Built in 1878, over the years it has been a fam­ily home, a par­son­age and home of as­pir­ing writer L.M. Mont­gomery when she taught school in Bide­ford. It is open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

at Con­fed­er­a­tion Cen­tre Public Li­brary, July 23, 2 p.m. Irv­ing and Dale will talk about their ex­pe­ri­ence of story-gath­er­ing from peo­ple in the area and putting to­gether this new­est book, “Around the Point Two”.
