Stakes races take place in Summerside

Jack­son K Down, Heart and Soul win colt di­vi­sions

Jack­son K Down and Heart and Soul were win­ners on the At­lantic Sires Stakes card Wed­nes­day at Summerside Race­way for two-year-old pac­ing colts.

Jack­son K Down took the first $7,720 A di­vi­sion event with Gilles Bar­rieau in the bike.

The two-year-old pac­ing colt, out of Camys­tic and Vil­lage Jeri­cho, is owned by Downey Sta­bles of Quis­pam­sis, N.B.

Lukes Cow­boy and driver Kenny Arse­nault and PH Black­jack and Todd Trites came home sec­ond and third re­spec­tively.

The sec­ond A di­vi­sion event on the evening card went to Heart and Soul and driver Clare Mac­Don­ald.

The own­er­ship pa­pers on the colt are held by Earith and Ge­orge Ri­ley of Kens­ing­ton.

K D Over­drive and Bar­rieau fin­ished sec­ond and Wood­mere Terror and Marc Camp­bell were third.

Elm Grove Ka­boom and Camp­bell took first-place hon­ours in their di­vi­sion, cross­ing the fin­ish line first for own­ers Ken­neth Wilkie of Mon­tague and Larry Chap­pell of Marsh­field.

Pro Side un­der the com­mand of Bernard McCal­lum placed sec­ond and Dare You and Danny Romo fin­ished third.

De­spite heavy rain dur­ing the race card all stakes events took place with the fi­nal A event go­ing to Up And Gone, driver Mike Steven­son and owner Robert Wil­son of Wood­stock, N.B.

Mag­i­cal Cow­boy fin­ished sec­ond and Di­lans Mus­tang third.
