Home ice advantage

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - ENTERTAINMENT -

Walking into Studio 1 at the Confederation Centre of the Arts this summer is like stepping into a hockey rink.

There are bleachers, boards and, in one corner, fake ice.

The sound booth, lighting booth and the bar are enveloped by a canteen, complete with ketchup and mustard containers. “Sometimes you can even smell french fries from Mavor’s,” says actress Bryde MacLean.

Banners from P.E.I. hockey teams decorate the wall. There’s also a Chucky Skate Shop sign and a picture of Queen Elizabeth.

Tickets for the show are available at the Confederation Centre box office, by calling 902-566-1267 or online at www.charlottetownfestival.com.
