WestJet adds flights to Toronto, Florida
It’s going to be easier for Islanders to get to Florida this winter after WestJet adds a weekly direct flight from Charlottetown to Orlando.
Charlottetown Airport Authority CEO Doug Newson said the airport was pleased to see WestJet launch the new product for its market.
“This is great news for Islanders as the community and our frequent travellers have been looking for direct service to Florida from Charlottetown for a long-time.”
The seasonal weekly service from Charlottetown to Orlando starts Dec. 18 and will run every week until April 29, 2016.
The flight will leave Charlottetown at 4:50 p.m.
Travellers are also getting daily flights to Toronto starting Oct. 26.
Those flights will depart Charlottetown at 6:25 a.m.
“This is a considerable change to our winter product offering as it will more than double our WestJet domestic capacity in the winter months and provide another alternative for travellers wanting to start their travel day from P.E.I. early in the morning,” Newson said.
