RCMP get new commanding officer
The P.E.I. RCMP are getting a new commanding officer with the appointment of Chief Superintendent Joanne Crampton. Crampton takes over from Chief Superintendent Craig Gibson who Crampton held the position of L Division’s commanding officer from August 2012 until his transfer to Ottawa earlier this year. Throughout her career, Crampton served in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Halifax and most recently P.E.I. where she has served as the criminal operations officer since 2013. Premier Wade MacLauchlan congratulated Crampton on being named commanding officer and expressed gratitude to Gibson for his service in P.E.I. A change of command ceremony will be held at a later date.
