RCMP get new com­mand­ing of­fi­cer

The P.E.I. RCMP are get­ting a new com­mand­ing of­fi­cer with the ap­point­ment of Chief Su­per­in­ten­dent Joanne Cramp­ton. Cramp­ton takes over from Chief Su­per­in­ten­dent Craig Gib­son who Cramp­ton held the po­si­tion of L Di­vi­sion’s com­mand­ing of­fi­cer from Au­gust 2012 un­til his trans­fer to Ot­tawa ear­lier this year. Through­out her ca­reer, Cramp­ton served in Al­berta, Saskatchewan, Hal­i­fax and most re­cently P.E.I. where she has served as the crim­i­nal oper­a­tions of­fi­cer since 2013. Premier Wade MacLauch­lan con­grat­u­lated Cramp­ton on be­ing named com­mand­ing of­fi­cer and ex­pressed grat­i­tude to Gib­son for his ser­vice in P.E.I. A change of com­mand cer­e­mony will be held at a later date.
