Brian Dunn joins hosts tonight

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - COMMUNITY/ENTERTAINMENT -

Hosts of the Brackley Beach Fiddle and Song concert series, Jon Matthews and Sheila MacKenzie, welcome P.E.I. singer/songwriter Brian Dunn to their stage at the Brackley Beach Community Centre today at 7:30 p.m.

In the mid 1990s, Dunn played in the Celtic-folk band Life of Reilly with Michael Pendergast. They travelled across Atlantic Canada entertaining their audiences with their blend of music and humour.

After leaving the band to go to school in Mississippi, Dunn took his Maritime East Coast songs and stories to coffee shops, festivals and pubs on the Gulf Coast from Biloxi to New Orleans. It wasn't long before the Maritime heart in his music was infused with the eclectic, soulful and easy groove of the South.

Upon returning to P.E.I. in 2006 with his family, Dunn was excited about the robust singersongwriter scene on the Island and is now one of the busiest entertainers in that scene.

The air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible Brackley Beach Community Centre is located at 3330 Brackley Point Rd. (Route 15) just outside of Charlottetown.

All ages are welcome with admission by cash only at the doors, which open at 7 p.m.
