Rain wins again

Char­lot­te­town Gaudet’s Auto Body Is­lan­ders pitcher Dan O’Shea pre­pares to throw a pitch against the Monc­ton Fisher Cats Tues­day night at Me­mo­rial Field in Char­lot­te­town in New Brunswick Se­nior Base­ball League ac­tion. The game was de­layed 45 min­utes af­ter Monc­ton got stuck in road work on the Con­fed­er­a­tion Bridge. The game was tied 2-2 en­ter­ing the sixth in­ning when rain struck, wash­ing out the rest of the night’s ac­tion. The re­main­ing two in­nings of the game will be played at a later date. The game was ini­tially June 16, but was post­poned due to rain. Char­lot­te­town scored two runs in the first in­ning Tues­day, but Monc­ton re­sponded with one in the sec­ond and tied it in the top of the fifth.
