Foun­da­tion backs ‘re­silient’ cities

The Rock­e­feller Foun­da­tion is adding $64 mil­lion more to an al­ready $100 mil­lion ini­tia­tive that rec­og­nizes cities for their ideas on phys­i­cal, so­cial and eco­nomic re­silience.

Foun­da­tion Pres­i­dent Ju­dith Rodin made the an­nounce­ment Tues­day while launch­ing the third and fi­nal round of the New York-based char­ity's “100 Re­silient Cities” con­test.

Sixty-seven cities have been named over the last two years. They range from Ac­cra, Ghana, to Welling­ton, New Zealand.
