Musicians sing for Islanders’ supper
Weekly concert accepting donations for food bank
For the second year, the Close to the Ground concert series hosted by Fiddlers’ Sons will be hosting a Food Bank fundraiser show today at 8 p.m. at the Kaylee Hall in Pooles Corner with special musical guests Leon Gallant and friends.
With busy summer schedules, it’s easy to forget the need is still present for the services of the Southern Kings and Queens Food Bank. In fact, this time of year the shelves are starting to get empty.
Host Eddy Quinn is encouraging concert goers to bring a donation of cash or non-perishable food items to help the local organization get through the summer.
Musical guest for the evening Leon Gallant is a lively and fun P.E.I. singer and entertainer who can be found performing regularly in Stanley Bridge and at Avonlea Village in Cavendish.
