P.E.I. Mil­i­tary Fam­ily Re­source Cen­tre trav­el­ling the Is­land this sum­mer

Staff of the P.E.I. Mil­i­tary Fam­ily Re­source Cen­tre (P.E.I. MFRC) is on its sec­ond an­nual tip-to-tip Tour, trav­el­ling across the province at­tend­ing events in many com­mu­ni­ties, in­clud­ing Souris, O’Leary, Mur­ray River, Al­ber­ton, Kens­ing­ton, Summerside, St. Peter’s, Dun­das and Char­lot­te­town.

Events are be­ing up­dated on the P.E.I. MFRC cal­en­dar on their web­site.

The P.E.I. Mil­i­tary Fam­ily Re­source Cen­tre ex­ists to of­fer ser­vices, in­for­ma­tion, and sup­port to the fam­ily mem­bers of Prince Ed­ward Is­land’s mil­i­tary mem­bers. This tour gives the MFRC a way to con­nect with is­lan­ders who don’t live close to ei­ther its main of­fice in Char­lot­te­town or any of the satel­lite of­fices in Summerside, Cardi­gan, and Al­ber­ton, and to just con­nect with the Is­land com­mu­nity.

“We’re happy to get out and par­tic­i­pate in the great com­mu­nity events hap­pen­ing through the sum­mer,” says ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the P.E.I. MFRC, Donna Earl. “We en­cour­age all Is­lan­ders to come say hello when they see us out and about, es­pe­cially mem­bers of mil­i­tary fam­i­lies or any­one with a mil­i­tary con­nec­tion. We love chat­ting with new friends, and we also have all kinds of in­for­ma­tion and swag to give away through­out the Tipto-Tip tour.”

on Thurs­day, July 23, 6-8 p.m., fea­tur­ing de­li­cious cakes and bev­er­ages (all you can eat or drink). All are most 6.50, chil­dren 10 and un­der, $3.50 and preschool­ers, free. The an­nual straw­berry and ice cream so­cial is Fri­day, July 24, at St. John’s United Church in Mt.
