Three performers are set to take the stage at the Trailside Café & Inn in Mount Stewart tonight. Check out the details on the concert that will feature Katie McGarry, the May-Heming ways and Al Tuck from the story

Katie McGarry, the MayHemingways and Al Tuck will be playing the Trailside Café & Inn in Mount Stewart this evening.

McGarry’s latest album, “Waiting On”, provides a satisfying serving of sweet vocals, tasty country licks and contemplative lyrics. It received four 2015 Music P.E.I. award nominations, and she took home the award for country recording of the year at the annual Music P.E.I. Country Jubilee.

The Mayhemingways is a duo that sounds more like a band. With an alt-country, bluegrass and Cajun sound, the group is genre defying yet familiar and features a rotating cast of instruments including accordion, banjo and guitar with rhythm locked in with drums and foot pedal bass.

Bring up Tuck’s name to any Canadian music insider and the response is good. Feist suspects he might just be a living legend. Jason Collett called him the greatest songwriter of his generation.

“He is an awesome encyclopedia of popular music, a roving troubadour familiar with the inside of nearly every bar and club from coast to coast, and after almost 20 years in the business is one of Canada’s true hidden musical treasures,” says a release.

Doors and kitchen at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at www.trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or 902-676-3130.
