• The an­nual Prince Ed­ward Is­land Na­tional Park Surf Guard com­pe­ti­tion has been tak­ing place for over 50 years.

• Prince Ed­ward Is­land Na­tional Park of­fers seven su­per­vised beaches over the sum­mer months: Cavendish Camp­ground Beach, Cavendish Main Beach, North Rus­tico Beach, Brack­ley Beach, Ross Lane Beach, Stan­hope Beach and Green­wich Beach.

• Prince Ed­ward Is­land was the first na­tional park in Canada to of­fer a life­guard ser­vice. The life­guard ser­vice in Prince Ed­ward Is­land Na­tional Park was es­tab­lished in 1948 in Cavendish and in Dal­vay in 1949.

• Thirty Surf Guards pa­trol Prince Ed­ward Is­land Na­tional Park’s beaches. One of them, Clarkie Gallant, a Surf Guard Su­per­vi­sor, has been work­ing at Prince Ed­ward Is­land Na­tional Park since 1966.
