Aca­dian Days Fes­ti­val set to get un­der­way

The Farm­ers’ Bank of Rus­tico Mu­seum and Doucet House (2188 Church Rd., Rus­tico, Route 243, off Route 6) will be hold­ing daily events from July 25 to Aug. 21 as a part of its Aca­dian Days Fes­ti­val.

Ev­ery day, 2-4 p.m., hot ap­ple cider will be served at the Doucet House. Guests can also have their pho­to­graphs taken in tra­di­tional Aca­dian cos­tume.

Start­ing July 27, on Mon­days and Wed­nes­days, 2-4 p.m., Shirley Gallant will pro­vide a demon­stra­tion of knit­ting. In ad­di­tion, in­ter­preters in pe­riod cos­tume will give guided tours, and ge­neal­o­gist Theresa Gallant will talk about the ge­neal­ogy of Rus­tico Aca­dian fam­i­lies by ap­point­ment.
