Credit Union supports summer concert series
The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel Ltée has started its main annual activity, the Sunday night summer concert series that runs July and August at the Mont-Carmel Community Hall.
Not only does this concert series provide typical Acadian entertainment for tourists and locals, but it enables the audience to discover and rediscover some of our Island artists.
Recently, the presenting sponsor, the Évangéline-Central Credit Union, made a donation to the co-op for the concerts.
To date, the concert series has featured performances by over 500 artists (musicians, singers and story-tellers) as well as 150 dancers.
This coopérative has also had an important impact on the hiring and presentation of our Island artists. Since the beginning of its concert series, the coopérative has attracted over 7,000 spectators.
It is the most popular concert series of its kind during the summer on Prince Edward Island and, since its debut in 2008, has rapidly taken its rightful place within the artistic and cultural community of our province.
