New con­cert se­ries kicks off on Thurs­day

Si­t­u­ated on 92 acres of scenic coun­try side, Clin­ton Hills, P.E.I.’s new­est mu­sic venue, is breath­ing new life into a rus­tic 1959 re­stored dairy barn with Mu­sic in the Loft, a brand new weekly con­cert se­ries.

“We are thrilled to show­case our ren­o­vated dairy barn and 92 acres of scenic prop­erty as P.E.I.’s new­est mu­sic event venue” says Maribeth Roberts, owner of Clin­ton Hills. “We can’t wait to be­gin host­ing the won­der­ful tal­ented Is­land mu­si­cians we have lined up.”

Clin­ton Hills, ideally lo­cated just off Route 6, 10 min­utes from Cavendish and 30 min­utes from Char­lot­te­town, will be the place to be on Thurs­day evenings from July 30 to Aug. 27. Catch ECMA and Mu­sic P.E.I. award-win­ning en­ter­tain­ment while en­joy­ing lo­cally sourced ap­pe­tiz­ers and ar­ti­san wine/beer in a rus­tic at­mos­phere un­like any other.

On Thurs­day, July 30 Mu­sic in the Loft kicks off with renowned multi-in­stru­men­tal­ist and en­ter­tainer JJ Chais­son, the fid­dling fish­er­man. Other artists per­form­ing in­clude in­die folk-pop artist Dy­lan Men­zie on Thurs­day, Aug. 6, who ear­lier this year was pegged by CBC as one of five artists to watch as the “next big voice in Cana­dian mu­sic”.

Celtic fid­dler Ward Mac­Don­ald will be joined by multi-in­stru­men­tal­ist Remi Arse­nault, on Thurs­day, Aug. 13. Join ECMA award-win­ning singer-song­writer and Summerside na­tive Mike Dixon on Aug. 20 for a mix of blues, folk, pop and old-time as well as orig­i­nal ma­te­rial on acous­tic string and banjo gui­tars.

“As a per­former, I al­ways love to play new and unique venues and Clin­ton Hills is just that” says mu­si­cian Mike Dixon. “I am look­ing for­ward to per­form­ing on Au­gust 20 and in­vite you to come and join me for Mu­sic in the Loft where we’ll blow the roof off.”

The fi­nal show of the se­ries will fea­ture ECMA award-win­ning artist Ir­ish Mythen tak­ing place on Thurs­day, Aug. 27. Mythen, who re­cently opened for Rod Stewart, is a true en­ter­tainer who is known for her grip­ping live shows.
