New concert series kicks off on Thursday
Situated on 92 acres of scenic country side, Clinton Hills, P.E.I.’s newest music venue, is breathing new life into a rustic 1959 restored dairy barn with Music in the Loft, a brand new weekly concert series.
“We are thrilled to showcase our renovated dairy barn and 92 acres of scenic property as P.E.I.’s newest music event venue” says Maribeth Roberts, owner of Clinton Hills. “We can’t wait to begin hosting the wonderful talented Island musicians we have lined up.”
Clinton Hills, ideally located just off Route 6, 10 minutes from Cavendish and 30 minutes from Charlottetown, will be the place to be on Thursday evenings from July 30 to Aug. 27. Catch ECMA and Music P.E.I. award-winning entertainment while enjoying locally sourced appetizers and artisan wine/beer in a rustic atmosphere unlike any other.
On Thursday, July 30 Music in the Loft kicks off with renowned multi-instrumentalist and entertainer JJ Chaisson, the fiddling fisherman. Other artists performing include indie folk-pop artist Dylan Menzie on Thursday, Aug. 6, who earlier this year was pegged by CBC as one of five artists to watch as the “next big voice in Canadian music”.
Celtic fiddler Ward MacDonald will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Remi Arsenault, on Thursday, Aug. 13. Join ECMA award-winning singer-songwriter and Summerside native Mike Dixon on Aug. 20 for a mix of blues, folk, pop and old-time as well as original material on acoustic string and banjo guitars.
“As a performer, I always love to play new and unique venues and Clinton Hills is just that” says musician Mike Dixon. “I am looking forward to performing on August 20 and invite you to come and join me for Music in the Loft where we’ll blow the roof off.”
The final show of the series will feature ECMA award-winning artist Irish Mythen taking place on Thursday, Aug. 27. Mythen, who recently opened for Rod Stewart, is a true entertainer who is known for her gripping live shows.
