Treble with Girls is on stage for Sunday Night Shenanigans on July 26 in York. Check out the full show details on
Sunday Night Shenanigans, hosted by Judy MacLean at York Community Centre, welcomes Treble With Girls, one of P.E.I.’s newest performing groups, back to the stage on July 26, 7 p.m.
The group consists of Sheila MacKenzie ( fiddle and vocals), Maxine MacLennan (guitar, percussion, vocals), Jolee Patkai (guitar, percussion instruments and vocals) and Norman Stewart (guitar, vocals), who also keeps the other group members on their toes with his unique sense of humour and onstage antics.
The group plays at Orwell Corner every Tuesday and is busy performing at various other venues when not rehearsing or composing their own brand of musical numbers such as The Ceilidh Song, which was included in the finals category of a recent songwriting contest sponsored by the CBC. The song, which tells the story of Prince Edward Island, was co-written by MacLennan and Patkai and is performed as a group number.
Also in the entertainment lineup is Celtic stepper Kristyn Visser, a longtime member of the Judy MacLean Dancers, who will perform strathspeys, reels and high-kicking jigs, plus Emmett DeCoursey who is always a crowd favourite with his selfpenned fun songs.
The evening includes a 50/50 draw, a Visitor From Away prize and a light lunch compliments of Atlantic Superstores, ADL and the P.E.I. Preserve Company.
Tickets are at the door beginning at 6 p.m. Call 902-566-5545 for information.
The York Community Centre, which is wheelchair accessible and air-conditioned, is on Route 25 in York. Sunday Night Shenanigans supports the QEH.
