The three main types of fats in foods can be clas­si­fied as sat­u­rated fats, polyun­sat­u­rated fats and mo­noun­sat­u­rated fats. Out of these, it is best to con­sume the polyun­sat­u­rated and mo­noun­sat­u­rated fats, while avoid­ing sat­u­rated fats as much as pos­si­ble.
