Stratford scores 24 runs in two games on Sun­day in KCBL play

The bats were boom­ing for the Stratford P.E.I. Brew­ing Com­pany Ath­let­ics on Sun­day.

The Ath­let­ics swept a Kings County League Base­ball dou­ble­header, beat­ing Morell and the Ac­tion Aero Ex­pos.

Stratford took the first game 14-3 in five in­nings.

In the first game against the Morell Che­vies, Ron­nie de la Cruz went the dis­tance in the win while Craig Lawlor suf­fered the loss.

Randy Tay­lor was 3-for-3 for the Ath­let­ics while Ja­cob and Al­lis­ter Smith had two hits each and Shawn MacDougall hit a solo home run.

The Che­vies were led by Scott Ellsworth, Jar­rod Lay­bolt and Desi Doyle, who were each 1for-3.

Stratford didn’t re­lax at all in the sec­ond game where the Ath­let­ics bounced the Ex­pos 10-0 in 5 in­nings.

Josh Kir­patrick went the dis­tance on a two-hitter with seven strike outs to pick up the win for Stratford while An­drew Arse­nault suf­fered the loss.

Adam and Al­lis­ter Smith had three hits each to lead the ath­let­ics while An­drew Bryan­ton and Ja­cob Smith chipped in two each.

Ben Lad­ner had both hits for the Ex­pos.
