Stratford scores 24 runs in two games on Sunday in KCBL play
The bats were booming for the Stratford P.E.I. Brewing Company Athletics on Sunday.
The Athletics swept a Kings County League Baseball doubleheader, beating Morell and the Action Aero Expos.
Stratford took the first game 14-3 in five innings.
In the first game against the Morell Chevies, Ronnie de la Cruz went the distance in the win while Craig Lawlor suffered the loss.
Randy Taylor was 3-for-3 for the Athletics while Jacob and Allister Smith had two hits each and Shawn MacDougall hit a solo home run.
The Chevies were led by Scott Ellsworth, Jarrod Laybolt and Desi Doyle, who were each 1for-3.
Stratford didn’t relax at all in the second game where the Athletics bounced the Expos 10-0 in 5 innings.
Josh Kirpatrick went the distance on a two-hitter with seven strike outs to pick up the win for Stratford while Andrew Arsenault suffered the loss.
Adam and Allister Smith had three hits each to lead the athletics while Andrew Bryanton and Jacob Smith chipped in two each.
Ben Ladner had both hits for the Expos.
