P.E.I. Reds fin­ish 4-2 at All-Amer­i­can Chal­lenge

The P.E.I. Sco­tia­bank Reds’ un­der-18 team fin­ished with a 42 record at the All-Amer­i­can Chal­lenge fast­pitch tour­na­ment.

The Reds, af­ter win­ning four of their five round-robin games, lost 4-2 to a team from Ver­mont in sud­den-death play­off ac­tion on Sun­day.

Satur­day, the Reds won two of three games. Ab­bie Mor­ris­sey’s walk-off grand slam out of the park gave the Reds a 9-6 win over the Rapid Fire Gold team from Mas­sachusetts.

The Reds then lost 7-1 to the New Eng­land Hur­ri­canes’ Gold team, and Emily Broth­ers pitched a com­plete-game shutout in a 4-0 vic­tory over the West­ford Waves in the Reds’ third game Satur­day.

Fri­day, the Reds de­feated the New Eng­land Diamond Gems 20 and the New Hamp­shire Mys­tics 8-7.
