Woman swims across strait
AMHERST SHORE, N.S., N.S. - An Ontario woman has successfully completed a swim across the Northumberland Strait and back again today - touching all three Maritime provinces. Fifty-eight-year-old Marilyn Korzekwa embarked on the 34-kilometre swim at around 7:45 p.m. Saturday. She departed from the Amherst Shore of Nova Scotia and swam to Prince Edward Island, then doubled back alongside the Confederation Bridge. According to Korzekwa's blog, she finished in New Brunswick at around noon after swimming non-stop for almost 17 hours.
