Book reviews assist readers
Those who like to read books would be well advised to read the book reviews of Elizabeth Cran in this newspaper.
Ms. Cran enlightens us on so many publications, many of which are from Maritime authors, where she not only delves into the gist of the stories but also the biography of the writers.
Her reviews allow us to become aware of books available where we might not have known about their existence whatsoever.
I find she writes with well-read intelligence. She can be coy, she can be sarcastic but always so very interesting. I applaud The Guardian for publishing these reviews. Ralph MacDonald Borden-Carleton
