The fu­neral ser­vice for Gerard Con­r­nelis Visser of Vic­to­ria was held Thurs­day, July 23rd, 2015, from the Daw­son Fu­neral Home, Cra­paud to Chris­tian Re­formed Church, Char­lot­te­town where the ser­vice was con­ducted by Pas­tor Chad Van­der­valk. Ac­com­pa­nists were Julie Wilt­ing (pi­ano), Janessa Fer­rell ( flute) and Wil­bert Talen (trom­bone). Fam­ily mem­o­ries were shared by his sons Ter­ence and Mar­cel Visser and his brother Dr. Hen­drick Visser. Spe­cial mu­sic was pro­vided by Linda Burns and Sharon Wolters who sang Morn­ing Has Bro­ken and his nieces Linda and Ann Visser who sang Rock of Ages. Con­gre­ga­tional hymns were Come, You Dis­con­so­late, When Peace Like A River, I Lift My Eyes Up, and There Is A Redeemer. Pall­bear­ers were Dan Bondt, Nor­man Cairns, Ran­dall Nieuwhof, Tom Van-Ewyk, Andy Vos and neph­ews John Visser, Melis Visser, and Ian Gil­roy. Flower bear­ers were his grand­chil­dren Annika, Ben­nett, El­larie, Reyer, Gavin, Malcolm, and Ava Visser and neph­ews An­drew and Cameron Visser. Also in at­ten­dance were Friends of L'Arche Cape Bre­ton, mem­bers of Mul­ti­ple Myeloma Di­vi­sion, and man­age­ment and staff of Vanco Farms and Red Isle Pro­duce.
