Annual Summer Slam, cruise this weekend
DUNSTAFFNAGE – Car owners wishing to show off their antiques, muscle cars, hot rods and more are invited to assemble at the Burger King parking lot on University Avenue in Charlottetown on Saturday evening. On Sunday, some of those same cars will be on display at the 19th annual Summer Slam behind the Spoke Wheel Car Museum in Dunstaffnage. Clarence Foster, owner and antique car collector, says he expects more than 50 cars to show up for the cruise. He says some car owners don’t want to take part in car shows but are happy to come out and drive around the city with other enthusiasts. The Cruise the Avenue event takes place 7-9 p.m. Saturday. The Summer Slam car show is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The show is free for participants and children and $5 for adults. Any proceeds after costs go towards charity or people in the neighbourhood who need financial assistance.
