Five seek Mon­tague coun­cil seat open­ing

MON­TAGUE – Five town res­i­dents will be vy­ing for the va­cant seat on the town coun­cil. Nom­i­na­tions closed Fri­day and two for­mer coun­cil­lors are seek­ing the job along with three new­com­ers. A coun­cil seat was made va­cant with the res­ig­na­tion of Sheila MacKen­zie Fitz­patrick and the by-elec­tion will be held Aug. 17. The can­di­dates in­clude for­mer coun­cil­lors Leonard Mun­roe and Mar­ian Robert­son and new­com­ers Brian Gariepy, Daphne Grif­fin and Adam Martell.
