Cof­fin, O’Shea shut down Brew­ers

Morell - The Morell Che­vies downed the North­side Brew­ers 8-2 Wed­nes­day be­hind the solid pitch­ing of Troy Cof­fin and Stephen O’Shea. In Kings County Base­ball League ac­tion, the Brew­ers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first in­ning on RBI sin­gles by Nigel Fisher and Jason Ma­cLean. The Che­vies would an­swer with four runs in the sec­ond in­ning off Ma­cLean as Cole MacLaren and Colin Hansen each de­liv­ered RBI sin­gles. O’Shea chipped in with an RBI sin­gle in the third while the Che­vies rounded out the scor­ing with a three-run fourth. Fisher had a pair of hits to pace the Brew­ers while Kevin MacLeod added a dou­ble. Eight dif­fer­ent Che­vie bat­ters recorded a hit, with O’Shea col­lect­ing a pair.
