WEEKS, Gordon Franklin
A service of praise and thanksgiving to celebrate the life of Gordon Weeks, husband of Louise Weeks, of Hunter River, was held Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow. The officiant was Reverend Clair MacLeod, who also read Psalm 23 and selections from the Gospel of John, and delivered the message. Words of remembrance, written by daughter, Darlene McAllister, were read by grandson, Cody Weeks. The organist, Carolyn Bertram and Reverend MacLeod led the congregational hymns, Bringing in the Sheaves and Shall We Gather at the River. John Hagan rendered the solo, The Farmer Song. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of the QEH Same-Day Treatment Unit. Pallbearers were Robbie Nantes, Roger Nicholson, John Knox, Janharmen Hoekstra, Craig Weeks and Herbert Moore. Flower bearers were Eleanor Lamont, Connie Macdonald, Kim Rodd, Nancy Richard, Lori Weeks, Caroline MacMillan, Heather Turner and Vicky Morrison. Among those in attendance were representatives of the Greenvale Women’s Institute. Interment took place in the Hunter River Cemetery, where Reverend MacLeod conducted the committal service.
