Lucy Maud Mont­gomery was born in New Lon­don on Nov. 30, 1874. New Lon­don is for­merly known as Clifton and Graham’s Cor­ner.

Mont­gomery died on April 24, 1942.

She’s best known for writ­ing “Anne of Green Gables”, “Rilla of In­gle­side” and “Emily of New Moon”.
