Law so­ci­ety seeks public in­put

The Law So­ci­ety of Prince Ed­ward Is­land is seek­ing ap­pli­ca­tions from mem­bers of the public to fill two va­can­cies for public rep­re­sen­ta­tives on its gov­ern­ing coun­cil. Func­tions of the law so­ci­ety in­clude set­ting the stan­dards for ad­mis­sion, li­cens­ing and con­duct of lawyers, au­dit­ing and mon­i­tor­ing the use of trust funds held by lawyers and in­ves­ti­gat­ing com­plaints. These are vol­un­teer ap­point­ments with a com­mit­ment of sev­eral hours per month and are for three­year terms.
