Per­form­ers set to take the stage in Mont-Carmel

The Mont-Carmel Sum­mer Con­cert Se­ries is cur­rently in full swing and will con­tinue ev­ery Sun­day evening un­til Aug. 30.

The artists who will take the stage at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall on Sun­day, Aug. 2, for the fifth show of the sea­son are 112 Ac­cords, Char­lie A'Court, Gary Gallant and Peter Arse­nault. There will also be step-danc­ing by Les gars de par Chez Nous.

The group 112 Ac­cords is made up of Janelle Arse­nault on fid­dle and vo­cals, Mélanie Arse­nault on fid­dle, ukulele and vo­cals, Jo­ce­line Leblanc on vo­cals and guitar, Colby Arse­nault on pi­ano, Jenny Richard on ukulele and vo­cals and Brit­ney Arse­nault on guitar and vo­cals. This young dy­namic group from the Evan­ge­line area re­cently took home the sil­ver medal dur­ing the cul­tural com­po­nent of the Aca­dian Games. This group is work­ing un­der the di­rec­tion of nu­mer­ous artists in or­der to re­fine their stage pre­sen­ta­tion and their craft. Among these are Louise Arse­nault, Hélène Berg­eron, Stéphane Bouchard and some of the mem­bers of the group Vishtèn.

A singer/song­writer and gui­tarist, A'Court is the prover­bial force to be reck­oned with. Planted at the cross­roads of roots and soul, his voice, guitar work and con­tem­po­rary song­writ­ing have earned him an in­ter­na­tional fol­low­ing. Over the years, he has re­ceived a host of awards and ac­co­lades for his five solo al­bums, in­clud­ing his latest of­fer­ing, "Come On Over", win­ner of the 2015 East Coast Mu­sic Award for blues record­ing of the year. A'Court is most revered for his dy­namic and en­gag­ing live per­for­mance, has been named Mu­sic Nova Sco­tia's En­ter­tainer of the Year twice and has re­ceived five East Coast Mu­sic Awards in a va­ri­ety of dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories.

Singer/song­writer Gallant from Mont-Carmel has many years of ex­pe­ri­ence per­form­ing on stage. Over time, his songs have re­ceived quite a bit of ra­dio play and have been fea­tured on tele­vi­sion. He is a true artist who man­ages to ex­press him­self through his songs as well as on stage with a cap­ti­vat­ing pres­ence.

Arse­nault, the well-known fid­dle player from the Evan­ge­line area, will also make an ap­pear­ance on stage. His spir­ited melodies will not only make au­di­ences mem­bers tap their feet but will also warm up the floor for Les Gars de par chez-nous.

The con­cert will start at 7 p.m., and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall (5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel) open at 6:15 p.m. The public is in­vited to come early be­cause the seat­ing is lim­ited. Dur­ing the evening, spec­ta­tors will be able to buy 50/50 tick­ets, and the can­teen will be open.

Ad­mis­sion is $10 for adults, $8 for mem­bers and $4 for stu­dents. Ad­mis­sion is free for preschool­ers. The 2015 lineup is at www.co­op­er­a­tivecul­turellede­mont­carmel.com.
