Of­fence drives Vipers and Red Wings IJHL wins.

The Kens­ing­ton Moase Plumb­ing and Heat­ing Vipers and the Arse­nault’s Fish Mart Red Wings each notched six goals in Is­land Ju­nior Hockey League ac­tion on Sun­day.

Kens­ing­ton out-du­eled the Mon­tague Pizza De­light Ma­ni­acs 6-4 in Kens­ing­ton, while the Red Wings out­mus­cled the A&S Scrap Metal Met­ros 6-1 in Abram-Vil­lage. The Vipers (14-41) and the Red Wings (11-5-1) sit first and sec­ond in the league.

Vipers 6, Ma­ni­acs 4

Tan­ner MacGuigan scored three times and added an as­sist in lead­ing the Vipers to the home ice win.

MacGuigan net­ted the even­tual game-win­ning goal and an in­sur­ance goal in the third pe­riod.

Ryan Kelly (1-1), Jonathan Richards (1-1) and Nick Bouchey had the other Vipers mark­ers, while Eas­ton Smith chipped in two as­sists.

Kens­ing­ton out­shot Mon­tague 39-38 and went 2-for-3 on the power play in a game close through­out.

Mon­tague led 2-1 af­ter the first pe­riod. Kens­ing­ton took a 4-3 edge into the third.

Johnathan Arse­nault (2), Lo­gan Toole (1-1) and Da­mon MacDonald (1-1) net­ted the Ma­ni­acs scores.

Grant Grady earned the goal­tend­ing win over Matt Derry.

Red Wings 6, Met­ros 1

The Wings lit the red lamp three times in the first pe­riod and cruised to the vic­tory over the vis­it­ing Met­ros.

Benji Gaudet (1-2), Cole Hack­ett (1-2) and Chasse Gal­lant (1-1) did the hon­ours in the first, while Wil­lie Gaudet (1-1), Lo­gan Smallman (1-1) and Bran­don Wil­liams scored over the next two frames.

Ja­son Gal­lant chipped in two as­sists for the Wings, which led 3-0 af­ter the first and 4-0 at the sec­ond in­ter­mis­sion.

Pa­trick Cum­miskey, as­sisted by Lu­cas Holmes and Kyle Koughan, scored for the Met­ros.

The Wings out­shot the Met­ros 39-25 and went 1-for-3 on the power play.

The Met­ros went 0-for-3 with the ex­tra man.

Bradley Shea earned the win over Daniel Ni­chol­son.
