Host Ab­bies triple down on Kings

Cap­i­tals trip Re­gals in mid­get AAA play

The Char­lot­te­town Brighton Con­struc­tion Ab­bies tripled the Kings County Kings 6-2 in P.E.I. Mid­get AAA Hockey League ac­tion Satur­day in Char­lot­te­town.

Three goals, thanks to Gavin Hickey, Chris Sear and An­drew Camp­bell, in the third pe­riod did the trick. Sear and Camp­bell scored ear­lier in the game as well.

Jack Miller had the other Ab­bies score, while Kelly Bar­nett and Ryne MacIsaac each chipped in two as­sists.

The game was score­less af­ter the first pe­riod. Char­lot­te­town led 3-2 af­ter two pe­ri­ods.

Ava Boutilier tal­lied the win over Jed Walsh.

Cap­i­tals 4, Re­gals 1

Also Satur­day, the Summerside Hem­phill GM Cap­i­tals han­dled the Western Re­gals 4-1 in Al­ber­ton.

Brolin Turner scored twice in the first for the Caps and Mac Buchanan and Alec MacKinnon scored in the sec­ond to se­cure the win.

Si­las Han­dra­han, from Bray­den Arse­nault and Tyson Arse­nault, net­ted the Re­gals lone marker.

Nei­ther team scored on the power play in eight com­bined chances.

Koby Bridges tal­lied the vic­tory over Colin Gaudette.

Summerside led 2-0 af­ter one frame and 4-0 at the sec­ond in­ter­mis­sion.
