The fu­neral for Jack Small­wood was held on Mon­day, Jan­uary 4, 2016 from Belvedere Fu­neral Home Chapel where the ser­vice was con­ducted by Rev. Bill MacLeod. The or­gan­ist was He­len MacRae. Dur­ing the ser­vice, Ken­dall Docherty sang Be­cause He Lives and One Day at a Time. Words of re­mem­brance and fam­ily reflections were shared by Pat Neary, Jackie Small­wood, Jen­nifer Nucci and Sue Small­wood. Po­ems were shared by Christopher Small­wood, The Fallen Limb; Dane McKear­ney, When Tomorrow Starts With­out Me; Ken­neth Small­wood, Do Not Stand by My Grave and Weep; and Marc McKear­ney, Af­ter­glow. The re­ces­sional hymn was Amaz­ing Grace played by piper, Matthew MacLaine. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were ev­ery­one present. Pall­bear­ers were Stephen Power, Dane McKear­ney, Marc McKear­ney, Mike Power, Christopher Small­wood, Scott Small­wood, Ken Small­wood and Ken­neth Small­wood. In­ter­ment will take place later in Peo­ple’s Ceme­tery, Char­lot­te­town. The Is­land Shriners Club (Phi­lae Tem­ple) formed the hon­our guard. Those at­tend­ing the fu­neral ser­vice in­cluded mem­bers of the Or­der of the East­ern Star. On Sun­day, Jan­uary 3, 2016 Char­lot­te­town Branch No. 1 of the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion held a Ser­vice of Re­mem­brance at the fu­neral home. St. John’s Lodge No. 1 A.F. & A.M. held a Ma­sonic Me­mo­rial Ser­vice on Jan­uary 3, 2016 at Belvedere Fu­neral Home. The ser­vice was con­ducted by WBro. Wil­liam Reilly, or­a­tor, Bro. James McKie, se­nior war­den, MWBro. Don­ald Leary, grand mas­ter, and WBro. Aaron Baird, chap­lain.
