Vis­it­ing Red Devils skate past Cap­i­tals

Steady scor­ing did in the Summerside Hem­phill GM Cap­i­tals as the Pow­nal Taco Boyz Red Devils earned a 6-3 road vic­tory in P.E.I. Mid­get AAA Hockey League ac­tion Wed­nes­day in Summerside.

Bar­ring­ton Duffy and Con­nor Gray scored in the first pe­riod, Gray and Ethan Af­fleck (1-1) con­nected in the sec­ond frame, while An­drew MacKinnon and Dal­ton Kil­lorn net­ted third-pe­riod goals.

Gray also added an as­sist for Pow­nal, which led 4-3 af­ter two pe­ri­ods. The game was tied 2-2 at the first in­ter­mis­sion.

The Caps out­shot Pow­nal 3426. Each team went 1-for-4 on the power play.

Cameron Gil­lis, Tris­tan Gal­lant and Lo­gan Van­dervelden had the Caps goals. Sam McNeill chipped in two as­sists.

Colby Lan­dri­gan earned the win over Jaxon La­mont.

Tues­day in Corn­wall, the Char­lot­te­town Brighton Con­struc­tion Ab­bies un­hinged the Mid-Isle Ma­trix with four first­pe­riod goals and cruised to a 5-0 vic­tory.

Gavin Hickey, Alex Young, Tyler Hashmi (1-1) and An­drew Camp­bell (1-2) lit the red lamp in the first. Kyle Doucette (1-1) added a third-pe­riod marker for Char­lot­te­town, which went 1for-7 on the power play.

Con­nor Camp­bell earned the win over Jean-Luc Duguay for his first shutout of the sea­son.
