Women to play at home, men in N.S.

The Hol­land Col­lege Hur­ri­canes vol­ley­ball teams re­turn to ac­tion to­day as the se­cond half of the At­lantic Col­le­giate Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion (ACAA) sea­son be­gins.

The women’s team hosts the Mount Al­li­son Moun­ties at 2 p.m., while the men are in Church Point, N.S., to face the Univer­site Sainte-Anne. Start time is also 2 p.m.

The women Hur­ri­canes lead the ACAA at 8-1 while the third­place Moun­ties are 5-3. It’s the first meet­ing this sea­son be­tween the squads.

Syd­ney Foy leads the Hur­ri­canes with 2.57 kills per set, Emily Cald­well has a team-high 19 aces and Dana Trainor has 115 digs.

On the men’s side, the Hur­ri­canes sit tied with St. Thomas atop the stand­ings, while Sain­teAnne is 0-6.

Dar­cie Handrahan leads the Hur­ri­canes in kills per set (2.24) and aces (12). Peter Frenette leads in digs with 46.
