Hurricanes back on court
Women to play at home, men in N.S.
The Holland College Hurricanes volleyball teams return to action today as the second half of the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) season begins.
The women’s team hosts the Mount Allison Mounties at 2 p.m., while the men are in Church Point, N.S., to face the Universite Sainte-Anne. Start time is also 2 p.m.
The women Hurricanes lead the ACAA at 8-1 while the thirdplace Mounties are 5-3. It’s the first meeting this season between the squads.
Sydney Foy leads the Hurricanes with 2.57 kills per set, Emily Caldwell has a team-high 19 aces and Dana Trainor has 115 digs.
On the men’s side, the Hurricanes sit tied with St. Thomas atop the standings, while SainteAnne is 0-6.
Darcie Handrahan leads the Hurricanes in kills per set (2.24) and aces (12). Peter Frenette leads in digs with 46.
