The fu­neral for Mike Camp­bell, of York Point, was held on Tues­day, Jan­uary 5, 2016, at St. Fran­cis of As­sisi Ro­man Catholic Church, Corn­wall. The presider for the mass of Chris­tian burial was Rev­erend Bob Coady, who also pro­claimed the Gospel and de­liv­ered the homily. The first read­ing, from Ec­cle­si­astes, was ad­dressed by friend, Su­san Rooke. The se­cond read­ing, from Ro­mans, was ad­dressed by friend, Karen Chev­erie. The prayers of the faith­ful were led by nephew, Ben Camp­bell. The al­tar servers were Louise Larkin, Loyola Grif­fin and Kaye Larkin, who also as­sisted Father Coady as a eucharis­tic min­is­ter with Zita Cameron and Frances McCourt. The mu­sic was pro­vided by the St. Fran­cis of As­sisi choir led by choir di­rec­tor, Karen MacCan­nell, pi­anist, Bernie Field, and gui­tarist, Alan White. The hymns were: En­trance, Amaz­ing Grace; psalm, The Lord Is My Shep­herd, with Jen­nifer Scott as can­tor; Gospel ac­cla­ma­tion, Al­leluia, with Jenny Lizama as can­tor; of­fer­tory, On Ea­gle’s Wings; com­mu­nion, One Bread, One Body; post com­mu­nion, Hal­lelu­jah, ac­com­pa­nied by Alan White; com­men­da­tion, Songs of the An­gels; and re­ces­sional, We Shall Go Out. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were ev­ery­one present. The bear­ers of hon­our were sis­ter, Carol Anne Ea­gar; and brothers, Dave Camp­bell and Pa­trick Camp­bell. In­ter­ment will take place at a later date in the Char­lot­te­town Catholic Ceme­tery. Fu­neral ar­range­ments were en­trusted to Cen­tral Queen’s Fu­neral Home, New Glas­gow.
