New pro­gram op­tions planned for 2016

A new Women's Spirituality Se­ries be­gin­ning on Jan. 25 is one of the new pro­grams be­ing of­fered by the Martha Spirituality Cen­tre in 2016.

Fo­cus­ing on the text, "The Cup of Life: A Guide to Spir­i­tual Growth", au­thored by Joyce Rupp, this study group, led by Lynn Delong and Sr. Della Gaudet, will ex­plore how a cup used each day is a rich sym­bol of life with its empti­ness and full­ness, its beauty and its flaws and its many bless­ings.

It is nec­es­sary to reg­is­ter by Jan. 11 so texts can be or­dered. The cost of $40 in­cludes the text.

A Taize Prayer Evening, led by Joe Byrne, will be of­fered once a month be­gin­ning on Wed­nes­day, Jan. 13, and con­tin­u­ing ev­ery se­cond Wed­nes­day of the month. Taize Prayer is an ec­u­meni­cal sung prayer ex­pe­ri­ence and is open to all de­nom­i­na­tions. The fee is by do­na­tion.

The Thurs­day Catholic Spirituality Se­ries will be­gin on Jan. 14 with a pre­sen­ta­tion on Ig­na­tian Spirituality and will con­tinue on the se­cond Thurs­day of the month with pre­sen­ta­tions on Martha spirituality in Fe­bru­ary, Marguerite Bour­geoys spirituality in March, Fran­cis­can spirituality in April and Carmelite spirituality in May.

Join chair yoga and Chris­tian med­i­ta­tion with Karen Langevin (yoga) and Sr. Kath­leen Bol­ger (med­i­ta­tion) for a five-week ses­sion be­gin­ning on Fri­day, Jan. 15, and con­tin­u­ing ev­ery Fri­day for five weeks.

En­er­giz­ing chair yoga with med­i­ta­tion is from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and gen­tle chair yoga and med­i­ta­tion is from 10:15 a.m. to noon. The cost is $50 and each ses­sion is lim­ited to 10 par­tic­i­pants. Reg­is­tra­tions are ac­cepted un­til Jan. 11 or un­til spa­ces are filled.
