New program options planned for 2016
A new Women's Spirituality Series beginning on Jan. 25 is one of the new programs being offered by the Martha Spirituality Centre in 2016.
Focusing on the text, "The Cup of Life: A Guide to Spiritual Growth", authored by Joyce Rupp, this study group, led by Lynn Delong and Sr. Della Gaudet, will explore how a cup used each day is a rich symbol of life with its emptiness and fullness, its beauty and its flaws and its many blessings.
It is necessary to register by Jan. 11 so texts can be ordered. The cost of $40 includes the text.
A Taize Prayer Evening, led by Joe Byrne, will be offered once a month beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 13, and continuing every second Wednesday of the month. Taize Prayer is an ecumenical sung prayer experience and is open to all denominations. The fee is by donation.
The Thursday Catholic Spirituality Series will begin on Jan. 14 with a presentation on Ignatian Spirituality and will continue on the second Thursday of the month with presentations on Martha spirituality in February, Marguerite Bourgeoys spirituality in March, Franciscan spirituality in April and Carmelite spirituality in May.
Join chair yoga and Christian meditation with Karen Langevin (yoga) and Sr. Kathleen Bolger (meditation) for a five-week session beginning on Friday, Jan. 15, and continuing every Friday for five weeks.
Energizing chair yoga with meditation is from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and gentle chair yoga and meditation is from 10:15 a.m. to noon. The cost is $50 and each session is limited to 10 participants. Registrations are accepted until Jan. 11 or until spaces are filled.
