P.E.I. schools invited to enter contest

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - PROVINCE -

The deadline for the sixth annual Super Power Your School contest is close.

Through the contest, Staples and Earth Day Canada will give away $250,0000 worth of new technology to ecologically innovative schools in Canada.

That’s $25,000 in new technology for 10 schools, coast to coast. Prince Edward Island schools are invited to enter.

Applications are now being accepted until midnight on Jan. 29.

Teachers and principals of publicly funded schools are encouraged to share what their schools are doing to help the environment.

Examples of projects that helped previous winning schools stand out: building a geodome; maintaining a sustainable green house; planting trees and plants in local parks. Visit www.staples.ca/powereco for more information and to enter.
