Gasoline prices 30 cpl too high

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - EDITORIAL -

Yesterday, the world oil price closed at $33.97 a barrel and is still dropping. On this date in 2009, the price was about the same. For oil. In 2009 gas was 67.0 cents (from IRAC’s website) Today gas is 95.9 cents a litre. That’s an increase, in seven years, of 43 per cent. How much has your paycheque gone up in that time? 10 per cent? I think this issue, although it hurts ordinary Islanders the most, it’s about as high up on the P.E.I. government’s ‘radar’ as the Confederation Bridge toll.

I know this rant keeps coming up, but I’m going to keep asking until someone in our government gives me a good reason to keep gouging Island drivers (and voters). Lloyd Kerry, Charlottetown
