Kevin Bail­lie, Dave Poirier pre­sented with the P.E.I. Crime Stop­pers Po­lice Of­fi­cers of the Year awards

P.E.I. Crime Stop­pers hon­ours two po­lice of­fi­cers for their work in the com­mu­nity and for their lead­er­ship.

Staff Sgt. Kevin Bail­lie, with Kings District RCMP, and Sum­mer­side Po­lice Chief Dave Poirier were named Po­lice Of­fi­cers of the Year at the P.E.I. Crime Stop­pers an­nual gen­eral meet­ing re­cently.

The two men were se­lected from a record num­ber of 15 nom­i­na­tions this year.

Bail­lie was se­lected for his lead­er­ship and com­mit­ment to make Kings District a great place to work and his on­go­ing work to en­sure the pub­lic of Kings District are well served.

Poirier was rec­og­nized for his lead­er­ship, vol­un­teer work and com­mu­nity in­volve­ment on and off-duty.

P.E.I. Crime Stop­pers also pre­sented sta­tis­tics show­ing the or­ga­ni­za­tion re­ceived 443 tips from the pub­lic, lead­ing to solv­ing 46 crimes and 26 ar­rests.
