For most in­mates, if they haven’t al­ready been granted pa­role, they are au­to­mat­i­cally re­leased af­ter serv­ing twothirds of their sen­tence. The pa­role board is lim­ited to im­pos­ing con­di­tions, ex­cept in rare cases when it can deny the in­mate’s re­lease un­der cer­tain cir­cum­stances.
