No question on AG audit

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - EDITORIAL -

Today’s lead headline (“Possible probe”) brings back into the spotlight the story of Olive Crane’s abuse of the “slush” fund our Island political parties are given from taxpayers’ pockets to supposedly help run their offices. It shows me nothing has changed with regard to our provincial government’s abuse of our money. So much for the new government’s “openness, transparency and accountability”.

P.E.I. auditor general Jane MacAdam’s reaction does nothing to make me think this issue will go away. She says she is “aware of the public discussions on the issue” but an audit is “not currently on her planned audit schedule.” “I will consider it,” MacAdam said.

How very big of you, Ms. Auditor General, how very big of you. Lloyd Kerry, Charlottetown
