It’s not the start to 2016 the Sum­mer­side D. Alex MacDon­ald Ford Western Cap­i­tals were look­ing for. Af­ter los­ing 7-4 to the Dieppe Com­man­dos on Sun­day af­ter­noon, the Caps have lost three games in a row and eight of their last 12 dat­ing back to Nov. 28. The Caps fell to 22-10-1-0, and are now tied with the Com­man­dos (22-9-1-0) for se­cond place in the Roger Meek Divi­sion and over­all stand­ings in the Mar­itime Ju­nior Hockey League. The teams went into the third pe­riod tied 3-3. Nathan Yet­man gave the Caps a 4-3 lead in the first minute of the fi­nal frame, but the Com­man­dos re­sponded by scor­ing four unan­swered goals. Sam LeBlanc (1-1), Ri­ley Whit­ting­ham (1-1) and Tan­ner McCabe also scored for the Cap­i­tals, who re­ceived as­sists from Blaize Bridges (2), Thomas Stavert, Jesse An­n­ear, Josh Pugs­ley and Se­bas­tian Cormier. Ja­son Rioux earned the goaltending win over Matt Wil­liams.
