Boes makes 45 saves as Dal beats UPEI

Phil Gadoury scored three times Satur­day to lead the Dal­housie Tigers to a 4-1 vic­tory over the UPEI Pan­thers in At­lantic Univer­sity Sport men’s hockey ac­tion.

In Hal­i­fax, Mike Eve­lyn’s goal 21 sec­onds into the third pe­riod was the win­ner.

Gadoury scored a power-play goal in the se­cond pe­riod and added third-pe­riod goals at 5:58 and 18:14 (empty net).

Brock Beuke­boom from Brent An­drews got UPEI on the board with 2:45 to play.

Corbin Boes stopped 45 shots for the win while Matt Ma­ha­lak made 15 saves in the loss.

Dal­housie im­proved their record to 5-11-3 while UPEI falls to 9-8-2.
