The fu­neral for Dave Gal­lant, of Ne­wark, Ohio, and for­merly of Bon­shaw, P.E.I., was held on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 23, 2015 from Hen­nessey Cut­cliffe Char­lot­te­town Fu­neral Home to St. Joseph’s Church, Kelly’s Cross. The con­cel­e­brated fu­neral mass was of­fered by Rev­erend Danny Wil­son as chief cel­e­brant and homilist. He was as­sisted by Rev­erend Joseph Pal­liy­o­dil. The first read­ing was pro­claimed by un­cle, Andy Gal­lant, and the se­cond read­ing was pro­claimed by close friend, Steve Larkin. The prayers of in­ter­ces­sion were of­fered by aunt, Shirley Cleve­land. The fu­neral mass was sung by St. Joseph’s Church choir un­der the di­rec­tion of Dar­lene Lowther. They ren­dered the open­ing hymn, Amaz­ing Grace; the psalm, The Lord’s My Shep­herd; the com­mu­nion hymn, Lord Je­sus Of You I Will Sing; the in­cens­ing hymn, Songs Of The An­gels; and the re­ces­sional hymn, How Great Thou Art. The of­fer­tory hymn, A Can­dle Is Burn­ing, was ren­dered by soloist, Dar­lene Lowther. The urn bear­ers were par­ents, Dave and Noreen Gal­lant. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers were Richard and Linda Boul­ter, Jimmy and Chris­tine Cleve­land, Steve Larkin and Doug McCole­man. The in­ter­ment took place in St. Joseph’s Parish Ceme­tery where Father Wil­son held the grave­side ser­vice.
