The fu­neral mass for Ge­orge Chev­erie was cel­e­brated Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 30, 2015 from Hills­boro Fu­neral Home to Our Lady of the As­sump­tion Church with Fr. Bene­dict Paulraj pro­claim­ing the Gospel and de­liv­er­ing the homily. Lorna Ansems pro­claimed the first read­ing, and Jackie Hicken gave the se­cond read­ing. The prayers of in­ter­ces­sion were of­fered by Reg and Betty Lou McKenna. Mu­sic for the ser­vice was pro­vided by or­gan­ist Kath­leen MacDon­ald and Our Lady of the As­sump­tion fu­neral choir. The pro­ces­sional hymn was How Great Thou Art; re­spon­so­rial psalm, The Lord is My Shep­herd; of­fer­tory, Here I am Lord; com­mu­nion, Hail Mary; in­cense, Songs of the An­gels; and the re­ces­sional hymn, a vi­olin solo by J.J. Chais­son, of Ashokan Farewell. The eucharis­tic min­is­ters were Ar­lene Trainor and Corine Con­roy. The al­tar servers were Rick and Deb­bie Richard. The cross bearer was Ernie Coyle, and the holy wa­ter and in­cense bearer was Adel­bert Roche. The hon­orary pall­bear­ers were ev­ery­one in at­ten­dance. The pall­bear­ers were Kevin Col­oris, Len­nie Gil­lis, Blaine Chev­erie, David Chev­erie, Dar­ren Chev­erie and Glen Fisher. In­ter­ment will take place later at Our Lady of the As­sump­tion Ceme­tery. Com­ple­tion of fu­neral ar­range­ments was en­trusted to the Hills­boro Fu­neral Home.
