The fu­neral for Capt. Randy J. Hol­land was held on Novem­ber 26, 2015. The fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Fr. Jim Wil­lick, who also pro­claimed the Gospel and de­liv­ered the homily. The Cana­dian Coast Guard formed an hon­our guard. His son, Justin El­liott, and brother, Gordie Hol­land, placed the pall on the cas­ket. Genevieve Hol­land did the first read­ing and Anne Har­ris did the se­cond read­ing. Prayers of the Faith­ful were led by Ni­cole MacDon­ald. Pall­bear­ers were Kenny MacDon­ald, Billy Hol­land (proxy for Ger­ard Hol­land), Kurt Har­ris (proxy for Greg Har­ris), Glen Cameron, Terry Mal­lard and Glen Gal­lant. Flower­bear­ers were Flo Beer, Rose­mary Sauve, Cindy Bai­ley and Julie Har­ris. Al­tar servers were Michael MacDon­ald, Danny MacDon­ald, Ron­nie Camp­bell and Richard Rose. Brenda Young was the or­gan­ist. Hymns were: En­trance, Be Not Afraid; of­fer­tory, We Rise Again; com­mu­nion, Come to the Wa­ter and In the Arms of an An­gel, which was sung by Max­ine MacLen­nan; and re­ces­sional, Saint Anne’s Reel, by Richard Wood. Soloist was Max­ine MacLen­nan. Groups in at­ten­dance were Cana­dian Coast Guard At­lantic Re­gion and Kent Build­ing Sup­plies – Char­lot­te­town Store. In­ter­ment was made in the St. Columba Ceme­tery, with the com­mit­tal ser­vice con­ducted by Fr. Jim Wil­lick.
