Woman in West Prince facing drunk driving charges

-

UNION — A woman drove a car into the ditch in the early hours Saturday, and police say she later blew over three times the legal limit of blood alcohol. West Prince RCMP got a 911 call about the incident around 1 a.m. Saturday, says a statement issued Monday by the police force. The accident happened on the Dock Road between Alberton and Elmsdale. "As a result of the investigation a female driver was arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and transported to the West Prince RCMP detachment where she provided samples close to three times the legal limit," said the statement. The driver was not injured in the accident, said police. She was later released and will appear in Summerside provincial court in March to face impaired driving-related charges.
