B.C. student killed in New York murder-suicide

GENESEO, N.Y. — Police say a college student from Vancouver and a female student were the apparent victims of a murdersuicide in New York state. They say 24-year-old Matthew Hutchinson and 21-year-old Kelsey Annese were stabbed to death at a home near the campus of the State University of New York at Geneseo, about 55 kilometres south of Rochester. The body of 24-year-old former student Colin Kingston was also found at the home on Sunday and police say they are confident he was the killer and he acted alone. Police say there were no visible signs of a struggle and Hutchinson, a hockey player at the university who had also played with the Chilliwack Chiefs, and Annese may have been killed in their sleep. Police say Kingston was distraught over a recent break up and stabbed to death Annese, his ex-girlfriend, and Hutchinson with a large knife. Investigators say the former student called his father before turning the knife on himself.
