Foy leads way

Hol­land Col­lege sweeps Univer­sity of Kings Col­lege

The Hol­land Col­lege Hur­ri­canes won a pair of week­end games in Hal­i­fax in At­lantic Col­le­giate Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion women’s vol­ley­ball ac­tion.

They de­feated the Univer­sity of King’s Col­lege Blue Devils 3-1 (25-17, 25-27, 2512, 25-14) on Satur­day and 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-16) on Sun­day.

Laura Ready and Syd­ney Foy each had eight kills in Satur­day’s game while Foy also had six aces. Ready and Emily Cald­well recorded 11 digs in the match while Gra­cie Fer­gu­son had 10.

Foy led the Hur­ri­canes Sun­day with eight kills, Emily Cald­well had three ser­vice aces and Dana Trainor recorded 13 digs.

The wins move the Hur­ri­canes to 10-2 on the sea­son and trail only the Mount Saint Vin­cent Mys­tics (11-1).

The Hur­ri­canes visit the Dal­housie AC Rams on Satur­day and the UNBSJ Sea­wolves on Sun­day.
